It’s true that not everyday is going to be clear and sunny. It’s true that not everyday will be filled with positive experiences. It’s true that we’re not going to win each moment as though we deserve it especially when we know we’re worthy of the opportunity. It’s true that life doesn’t always have our back just as much as we want it to. Sometimes it’s true that the people that we want in our lives are not always going to be there. It’s also true that areas of our lives will punch us so hard that we will struggle to withstand the impact. So where does all of this us to? Well after a while, one experience after another, after another and after another can place us in a position of giving up where at that point questions, realities and emotions are going to have to be faced.

In today’s world, we find that giving up seems to be the easier option but then again it depends on what experience is. Take for example someone giving up on a certain way of thinking. When we thinking of giving up on a certain way of thinking, are we giving up for a better sound mind or giving up because of habit and avoidance? Sometimes our thoughts can lead us in one of two ways. If we’re thinking from a place that doesn’t give us much reward or benefit but are willing to give up that way of thinking so new information can come in then that’s a positive outlook. However, the opposite is where we find most of ourselves on a daily basis. We find it hard to rewire our thinking because we’ve set ourselves so deep in our beliefs that trying to reconstruct it seems like a hefty task. The best question to ask is whether or not has the way you’ve always thought and acted brought you the results that you’ve always been looking for? And has the way you’ve always thought kept you where you are? I guess it depends on what you’re giving for and on.

Lets take another example: giving up on opportunity. Are we giving up to make room for the new and allow our life to manifest what we truly desire in our hearts? Or to just sit on a sofa to watch opportunities go by? Personally I am a firm believer in finding your passion, your love, your personal ‘excitement’ and what you enjoy doing not just in work but in the personal life aspect as well. Those are things that keep us electrified and determined to keep going. That’s something that we wouldn’t want to give up on! Understandable that sometimes we want an opportunity so bad that when we don’t get that opportunity that we feel as though the opportunity didn’t see the value in us which now leads us to questioning our worth. Now here are the challenges:

  1. We either allow the opportunity to dictate our worth and settle for whatever opportunity comes.
  2. We can continue to find the value in ourselves to attract the opportunity that we desire
  3. We give up finding anything and hope that life throws something at us that lands us something…

The only thing that you need to know here is that you are valuable and most importantly, you are an asset that opportunity will come running to you.

Now giving up on ourselves… This is the biggest challenge of them all! I always say that its one thing to give up on something that’s pulling something away from you like your happiness or joy but another thing to give up on yourself. This is where we’ve just introduced ourselves to self-destructive feelings, thoughts and actions. When we think of giving up on ourselves, we’ve let our inner self down so much that we get to a point of self-suppression. You keep yourself down and just allow the emotional mind to take over. We sometimes tend to act out because of a series of bad experiences that consisted of disappointment, pain, anger and anything else that we think of. These are signs of the low-self making it hard to try and become uplifted because we’re holding onto emotions that don’t serve us any purpose. We’re not meant to let it sit and manifest to destroy us. In fact, my message here and advise here is to take what you’re feeling and turn it into something powerful! Now that’s what you’re meant to do with it. Take that energy and create something amazing with it.

Given the fact that each one is a bit different because they each entail a different experience filled with different emotions and thoughts, the principles and the baseline is still the same. Giving up on ourselves denies us from anything that we truly deserve to be deemed as positive. We suppress everything of what we know only to suffer but yet we know deep down giving up is not an option. See if I had given up a long time ago, I wouldn’t be here right now and so I know if I can do it and continue to keep on going no matter what, you can too!

Think well to live well… 🙂

The word ‘spirit’ came from some personal reflection that I had last week on the plane on the way to Los Angeles, California. Right now, I am going on a personal quest to allow my spirit to guide me in a particular way that allows me to seek and make tweaks for personal fine-tuning. It’s all about taking the time out to truly disconnect from anything external and connect with the inner being. I will keep you updated as the journey goes!

Having a sense of direction can lead you towards getting out of that tragic place called complacency. Sometimes when we feel stuck, getting unstuck means finding out how did I even find my here in this seat in the first place. Sometimes its like having an arrow and just shooting it at a target without a purpose. At least if you give yourself a purposeful goal with a meaningful target then you have a reason or at least a why as to why you are wanting to accomplish what you want to accomplish.

Task:

This will take 20 minutes to do but sit down and come up with two goals from the soul, the heart and from inner exploration but focus on one at a time. These goals can be in anything from health, education, exploration, etc. By doing something or giving yourself a target can help you towards getting out of that stuck position that we all dread of being in or yet facing. Don’t make it easy so challenge yourself! We’re abundant with this and don’t worry, I am always giving myself goals so I’m here with you. Let’s do this!

Although the world outside of ourselves may not always be pretty and days of sunshine may not always exist, the world within us is always within our control. We have the power to decide how we want to feel, create our future and to construct our reality. Often times, it’s the outer experiences that we allow to decide how we operate within ourselves in which determines the world within us and how we move forward. Ever just came through an experience and after coming out of that experience you feel like a part of you was taken away? It’s like loosing that central bit of sunshine or centre of empowerment that we often times go back to in order to feel centred and somewhat secured again. It’s almost like feeling grounded again and being stabilised to feel like we’re back in control. However, there is a task and that is ‘knowing’ the world in which you are run by: the outer vs. the inner world, extrinsic vs. intrinsic, external vs. internal, etc.

Please if you know the difference then great and if you don’t then that’s great as well because here is some food for thought. What we see in today’s world are a ton of gaps within people interpersonally. How do we know? Well just through intuition and having the ability to understand an individuals way of thinking through human psychology or even more powerful, human connection. So for example; when at least coming to understand human experiences, we learn to understand how these things affect the individual from mentally, physically, emotionally plus spiritually. People who are going through something within their own lives bogged down by stress, pressure, feeling stuck or lost, I always ask them have you taken that ‘personal’ time to spend with yourself? Explored who you are inwardly? And by ‘personal’ time, I mean personal selfish time? As in 10 to 20 minutes of me time? And here’s how I know when individuals haven’t: because their busy talking about what they’re worried about, what’s not right and even being talking about what doesn’t make them feel a certain way in which is understandable. But the problem is that talking about those things only defines that their world is lived through external experiences. This creates avoidance from within when in fact, in the time of despair and troubles, looking at the world from within is the key of the moment.

However, the good news is that even within your worries, fears or emotional troubles, you can still find that ‘personal’ time needed for clarity. There are 24 hours in a day (if it’s true) and surely you can find those 10 to 20 minutes of personal selfish time somewhere in there. Put a reminder, set an alarm or even dedicate that time within an hour of the day to ground that inner self because it’s benefitting. Here’s a list of things you can do; Find out what happiness means to you, fulfill yourself with hope, joy, self-love, paint a dream, install ambition, determination, have a vision, ask yourself questions like what do you want to get out of life, meditate, seek what your gifts/talents are, set yourself a goal, make a list of 5 things that you’ve always wanted to do, travel, make a difference, volunteer, etc. At least find that courage to take one step to come out of a certain way of thinking to love and appreciate yourself with who you are on the inside because at the end of the day you are worthy and you do deserve the very best out of life. But first and foremost, those rewards come from the work that you do within in which the objective here is to reach a level of abundance and joy that nothing in this world can take away from you. That’s true sunshine right there!

Mindful focus of the day is based on appreciation, gratitude and motivation:

  1. Focus on one thing that makes you happy and live with that feeling for the day
  2. Tell three people you love them
  3. Give yourself one goal to achieve within 7 days

It’s important that we take the time out of our day to stop and think about the positives in our lives to help keep us uplifted for the day and for the benefits of gaining positivity. These three focuses will help to find that self-love and self-inspiration to help find the winning ways in life.

Who? Why? And what?

Guess those questions could be the guidance keys for what direction we’re meant to be heading… Sometimes we feel like where just here and that’s it but the truth is that we all have a purpose in life and if we don’t know what it is then we can create one. We’re created and designed to work towards something whether that’s building a dream to inspire, establish a vision for a group of people or society, to offer a service or partake in a particular mission to install elements that we may find benefiting. The unfortunate thing is that the journey is not going to be easy nor is overcoming the obstacles that we may come face to face with later on in our journey. In addition to some of those experiences, we may even loose site of why we’re here. That’s why it’s always important to create life stone centralised within our lives so that we can always go back to our own inner compass.

The ‘why’ sparks curiosity like a child curious as to knowing why are you doing this or that? That same feeling can be experienced within our daily lives as to why am I/you/we doing this in which is usually our driving factor for our chosen or given sense of direction. Understandable that the answer may not come right then and there but with time we will eventually find out. What is interesting is that when we don’t know why we try to create one in our own mind in which we think or tend to believe. So for example; not knowing why we or you personally speaking leads you to trying to find answers that make sense. The hard part is find answers that fit within our life journey. Yikes! If that’s not clear in your head then the best thing to do is to spend time with yourself and figure out what sticks with your why.

Who are you? Well that’s a matter of whatever we put at the end of “I am…” Our lives are filled with opportunities all around us but the sad part is that we are not the opportunities that exist. That goes along with associating ourselves with our occupation or position in a company to who we may think we are only to make us sound more empowered and intimidating(jokes). Unfortunately, they are only experiences that we are having or found to be apart of in which we created as an opportunity within our mind. However on the bright side, we’re bigger and deeper than that and to find that out only takes time and using an inner conscious ready to crack the ceiling of what seems to be holding us captive of our true inner joyful nature. So who are you? Personally I play basketball, partake in coaching, mentoring and also motivational speaking. But those are just experiences, not who I am. I always tell people I am a spiritual being or a human who happens to play basketball. Why? Because if stopped playing basketball, then who am I afterwards? All about the journey…

The ‘what’ comes down to finding what we’re born to be do. Now that in itself is a challenge because when we’re not introduced to different ways of thinking around and about our journey, then the challenge to find the ‘what’ becomes more difficult the further we go down our timeline. Eventually then, we could potentially give up on it only to say to ourselves that I wasn’t born to do anything. That’s the trap that we fall into when it comes to giving up within our destiny or even to our life’s upcoming blessings. Words of encouragement but even if the ‘what’ doesn’t work out the first time, there’s still plenty of other routes to be taken that will get you where you desires are. It’s just a matter of what needs to be done or what is meant for our doing. That can be exercising your gifts, making a difference sharing something of yourself, showing your talents or even leading in ways that are God given.

It’s one thing to be on a journey but it’s another thing to know your journey or at least have an idea of it. It’s not a simple hack or yet simple answers to find and neither is it a straight line trying to find those answers because these things take time. One day you may find that you’ve found the answer to then next minute having to re-wonder everything and then letting time find purpose and reasons all over again. Sometimes we may be left with a blank page stuck and confused with what to do with ourselves next. All I can say is that this is a journey people filled with a lot of “stuff” whilst trying to figure out what to do with it. First and foremost, figure out what to do with your “stuff” first for clarity and foundation building then figure out what to do next. That’s the beauty of having and idea of this journey.

Change is painful and sometimes the experiences of change can lead us back to going down the same road that is unhealthy and unbeneficial to our lives.  It’s almost as though many of us choose to stay on the same road that has pot holes, traps, landmines and looking up ahead may lead us to falling off a cliff. And sometimes when we realise it, we may find it hard to accept that theres going to be a change that needs to be made. However, on the other side of change is a reward and that reward is satisfaction and happiness. Understandable that the success of change takes times and with giving yourself momentum within the start of change then eventually you will reap the rewards of the change.

So here’s the challenge:

  1. Find one area within life and become aware of how this area is making you feel.
  2. If that area makes you feel uncomfortable, ask yourself if there is something that is meant for me do here. (There’s no right or wrong but just awareness and feedback)
  3. If that area, road or path may lead to the edge of that cliff, look for other roads that can get you back on track or on the more ‘lighter’ path of thinking within your journey.

Sometime to win, we have to make changes.
